Solar-Powered Electric Vehicle Charging Station with Fuzzy MPPT Algorithm

This research paper presents a new approach to improving the efficiency and eco-friendliness of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. It combines solar power with a fuzzy maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm. The main goal is to establish a charging infrastructure that is highly efficient and reliable, reducing reliance on conventional grid power and maximizing the utilization of alternative energy sources. The proposed charging station incorporates photovoltaic (PV) panels to capture sunlight and convert it into electrical energy, primarily emphasizing integrating a fuzzy MPPT algorithm. This algorithm optimizes solar panel power generation by continuously adjusting the operating point in response to environmental changes, resulting in maximum overall efficiency. Integrating the MPPT fuzzy algorithm into the solar-powered EV charging station yields several advantages. These include a significant increase in energy conversion efficiency (up to 5% higher than traditional methods) and improved consistency and stability in handling variations in solar irradiance (with fluctuations of up to 50%). Moreover, it promotes sustainable charging techniques by reducing dependence on non-renewable grid electricity and lowering carbon emissions by 30%. The research includes many analyses and simulations to show that the proposed approach works to lower energy use and environmental damage. This shows that it could be a long-term solution for electric mobility in the future.
