Flexible 2D Perovskite Film for Dual-Mode X-Ray Detection and Imaging

X-ray detection and imaging play crucial roles in various fields, with a particular emphasis on medical applications where the demand for flexible detectors capable of conforming to curved surfaces and confined spaces is paramount. Metal halide perovskites, known for their low-temperature synthesis process and high radiation absorption coefficient, emerge as promising materials for flexible X-ray detectors. This study introduces a flexible X-ray detector utilizing two-dimensional (PEA)2PbI4 perovskite film. This perovskite’s natural quantum well structure contributes to a stable response to X-rays, enabling both direct and indirect X-ray detection and imaging. As a flexible direct X-ray detector, the device achieves a sensitivity of $28.1~\mu $ C Gy $_{\text {air}}^{-{1}}$ cm $^{-{2}}$ under 50 V/mm bias. Furthermore, functioning as an indirect scintillation detector, the detector demonstrates a spatial resolution of 2.1 lp/mm. These outcomes underscore the suitability of two-dimensional perovskite films as ideal candidates for flexible direct and indirect X-ray detectors.
