Design of the Double-Sided Flat Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor with the Same Number of Poles and Slots

Aiming at the problem of traditional fixed pole-slot combinations of permanent magnet linear motors, this paper proposes a permanent magnet linear motor with the same number of poles and slots combined by two unit motors. Its design principle and working principle are analyzed based on the slot electromotive force star diagram. Based on this, four double-sided topologies are proposed and verified by finite element simulation, and three of them can operate normally. Based on the mirror-symmetric double-sided permanent magnet linear motor topology, several parameters are selected to optimize the thrust ripple of the motor under the guarantee of thrust average value. Compared with the traditional permanent magnet linear motor, this type of motor has an advantage in thrust ripple.
