A Wide-Speed Range Three-Vector-Based Model Predictive Flux Control With Improved Predictive Model for PMSM Drives

This article presents a wide-speed range three-vector-based model predictive flux control (TV-MPFC) with the improved predictive model for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. A TV-MPFC with the improved predictive model strategy is designed to solve the problem that the flux reference value depends on the permanent magnet flux, and the calculation of the reference load angle depends on the motor parameters and the steady-state flux error caused by a disturbance in the TV-MPFC. First, the flux control variables are reselected to reduce the dependence of the TV-MPFC on the permanent magnet flux, and the reference load angle need not be calculated. Second, a Luenberger observer is designed to compensate for the lumped disturbance caused by parameter mismatch and unmodeled dynamics. Moreover, in order to expand the speed range of the system, the voltage and current limitations of the inverter in the high-speed region are analyzed in the new flux plane to obtain the goal of flux compensation. The strategy studied can not only improve the control performance of the TV-MPFC but also achieve a wide-speed operation of PMSM under the same voltage. Experiments are carried out to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed strategy.
