An Open-Loop Control for the Determination of the MTPV-Trajectory of a SynRM

In this paper an open-loop control for the measurement of the maximum torque per volt (MTPV)-trajectory for a synchronous reluctance machine (SynRM) is proposed. This method requires a minimum number of measurement parameter to determine the MTPV-trajectory without any previous knowledge of the inductances and its saturation effects. The proposed method is an open-loop control which is based on the same principle of measurement as the maximum torque per ampere (MTPA)-trajectory and can be easily implemented on a test bench. The functionality of the open-loop control is first tested using the simulation tool Matlab-Simulink. Then the open-loop control is implemented on an existing test bench to verify its functionality experimentally and compare the obtained simulation results with the measurement results.
