System Frequency Response Based Optimum Load Shedding for Industrial Power System

In this paper the amount of optimum load shedding has been determined during various islanding contingencies for different operating scenarios for industrial cogeneration system. The system frequency response (SFR) model including generator inertia, load inertia, load damping, total spinning reserve and governor time constants and settings have been used to determine approximate load shedding amount. For different values of in-plant generation (PG), total plant demand (PTD), power import (PT), spinning reserve (PS) and rate of change of frequency (df/dt), minimum amount of load shedding has been determine by system frequency response model. Industrial power system with cogeneration is considered for analysis of SFR load shedding method.
