Optimal Procurement of VPP Voltage Regulation Ancillary Service in Distribution Networks with High Penetration of PV

Distribution networks (DNs) are mostly run under stressed operating conditions due to rapidly increasing photovoltaic (PV) generations. Thus voltage regulation which considers demand responses has become a major concern. This paper proposes a method for virtual power plants (VPPs) voltage regulation ancillary service (VRAS) procurement in DNs with high penetration of PV. The objective is to minimize the total costs of VPPs compensations and PVs curtailment costs. Considering all kinds of constraints such as VPPs operating constraints, it can get optimal VRAS procurement of VPP. The results of IEEE 33-bus text system demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed method.
