Media culture and its role in the promotion and development of Russian scientific journals

The author provides insight into the concept of “media culture” in respect of the activities of scientific journals. A range of scientific journals is analyzed on the basis of the communication component of the journal policy, which is reflected in the ergonomics of communication with the authors and concern for the interests of the journal audience. This aspect of the activity of a scientific journal is considered for the first time.
