Development of a Machine Learning Based Algorithm to Identify the Main Types of Optical Signal Transmission Faults Between a Switch and an Optical Transceiver

In the article, the authors will show the results of the methodsdevelopment for testing optical transceivers and switches. The authors analyze the subject matter, give examples of the main problems encountered in real data centers that use optical transceivers. The introductory part briefly describes the main parameters affecting the quality of data transmission in optical transceivers. First of all, the authors describe the most common problems that arise during the operation of optical transceivers and switches during production and during long-term operation. In the second part, an analysis of modern methods of troubleshooting is given, examples of equipment for their search are given. A set of actions for finding errors is given as an example. In the final part, a description of the developed algorithm and conclusions about its effectiveness are given, and an analysis of the prospects for this development and plans for its implementation in real production facilities and data centers are carried out.
