Development of a Differential Temperature Sensor for the Implementation of an Exchange Density Measuring Device

By measuring the amount of heat that is emitted from the human body surface it is possible to estimate the body energy exchange with high accuracy. Disruption of energy metabolism can lead to irreversible consequences that will adversely affect the body. Therefore, in order to judge about energy exchange a heat flow is needed. At the time, monitoring of the heat loss from the body into the environment is a complex task that is not fully resolved. In this article devices and methods are used for heat flow measuring to implement a wearable device that allows to measure the intensity of energy exchange. A Wheatstone measuring bridge circuit is being developed, which together with a gas flow meter represents a heat flow sensor. Thermistors are used for achieving high accuracy and low measurement inertia. In the course of the study a circuit diagram of an experimental setup was designed. Experimental studies of individual components and the overall performance of the heat flow sensor were conducted. As a work result, the device was tested in operation and graphs were built. The graphs show significant temperature differences when comparing the inertia of thermistors and BME280 sensors. In the future, it is planned to develop a 3-D wearable model, conduct experimental studies of individual components and the overall performance of the heat flow sensor.
