Modeling of Scattering Spectra of DNA Molecules

The article discusses the methods of visualization of double-helical right-twisted DNA molecules using ultrashort laser pulses. A molecule is considered as a multielectron atom, on which an electromagnetic field pulse falls in the form of a plane wave. The duration of such a pulse will be considered to be much shorter than the characteristic atomic time, which allows the radiation process to be considered within the framework of the theory of sudden perturbations. The data obtained were compared with X-ray diffraction images. Methods of mathematical physics have been used to describe the interaction of a laser with a substance. In this work, all calculations were carried out in the specialized program Wolfram Mathematics 12.0. Laser parameters: the pulse falls on the system at an angle of 30, n is the angle between the spiral axis and the scattering direction, 0 is the angle between the x axis and the projection on the plane perpendicular to the spiral axis (spherical coordinates are shown on the contour graph as projections), a is the angle of opening of the spiral turn, L is the offset distance between the vertices of the spiral. In addition, the article uses data from X-ray diffraction analysis. Images of DNA molecules are used to compare the theoretical data obtained with the real picture of the molecule. The main focus of this work is on two main types of DNA molecules: DNA type A and DNA type B. The graphical method shows the decoding of the obtained contour graphs by analogy with classical X-ray images.
