Performance Analysis of Wi-Fi Networks based on IEEE 802.11ax and the Coexistence with Legacy IEEE 802.11n Standard

This paper analyzes the performance of Wi-Fi networks based on the new IEEE 802.11ax standard. Two scenarios are considered: on the one hand only 802.11ax devices, and on the other a mixed scenario with legacy devices. The study is based on equipment currently available on the market and focuses on educational scenarios, which stand out for their high density of clients. Performance results obtained with network simulators that partially implement the new standard are also presented.
