Aeolian Vibration Model and Experimental Study on Damping Characteristics of Damper Spacers

The spacer keeps a certain distance between the split sub-conductor to prevent the split sub-conductors from whipping each other. In addition, the spacer has a certain effect on suppressing the aeolian vibration of the transmission line. In recent years, due to improper design and selection of spacer, damage to the spacer and faults of worn wires have occurred from time to time. It is necessary to study the vibration characteristics and damping performance of the spacer in the anti-vibration design of the transmission lines. The mechanism of typical structural damper spacers to suppress the aeolian vibration is analyzed, and the mathematical model of aeolian vibration of the damper spacers for multi-split conductors is established. The stiffness-damping method and damping method are used to carry out experimental research on the damping characteristics of the spacer. The key parameters that characterize the vibration characteristics of damper spacer are presented, which provides a reference for the design of spacer.
