Improving Ergodic Capacity of Imperfect IoT System Relying on UAV and NOMA

With the proliferation of internet-of-things (IoT) devices, it has become necessary to study techniques to resolve the unique challenges placed on the current and future generation of wireless communications. In this article, the outage performance of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-aided non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technologies in downlink IoT networks and the impact of hardware impairment is studied. A UAV intends to communicate with two ground users over non-central chi-square distribution for wireless channels. The UAV enhances communication by serving dynamically as a base station to ground users. To this end, we derive closed-form ergodic capacity expressions as our main performance metric. The formulated analytical equations are validated using simulations to verify the effectiveness of the proposed solution.
