Simulation verification of topologies of balancing systems with flyback converters

This article describes the problem of balancing systems with flyback converters. These balancing systems are divided into three types and mutually compared. The first type of balancing system is with a flyback converter for each cell separately. The second type of balancing system is a flyback converter with a multi-winding transformer with a primary winding separately for each cell and secondary side connected to whole pack. The third type of balancing system consists of a boost converter and a flyback converter for each cell separately. Simulation analyses have been focused on the evaluation of the efficiency and balancing speed for discussed topologies. The parameters of the batteries and flyback converters are given as well withing proposed paper. The experimental results received from simulation analyses could be useful as an inspiration for a specific implementation for different types of battery packs.
