Special section of papers from the Radecs 2000 workshop

THE IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON NUCLEAR SCIENCE has been publishing selected papers from the European Conference on Radiation and its Effects on Components and Systems (RADECS) since that conference was first held in 1991. A full RADECS conference is held every two years, with a smaller workshop on similar topics held in the off years. This issue of this TRANSACTIONS is the first to publish a special section of selected papers from one of the RADECS workshops, in particular RADECS 2000. This workshop was held September 11–13, 2000, on the premises of the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. It was set up under the aegis of the RADECS association. Alcatel ETCA teamed with UCL, Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCK•CEN), Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB), and Interuniversity Microelectronics Center (IMEC) to organize the event.
