The Proposed Plan of a Syrian 400 Kv Grid Connection Model with the DESERTEC Project in the Syrian Arab Republic

The continuous increase in the demand for energy in the world has prompted the thinking of using renewable energy sources as an alternative to conventional energy sources (fuel, coal, gas ... etc.) due to the low operating costs and the low impact on the environment. In conjunction with these ideas, several projects appeared in the world that use renewable energies, and one of the most prominent of these projects was the DESERTEC project, which aims to optimize the exploitation of these energies by linking the sources of power generation in the countries of the Middle East, North Africa and Europe with each other through the high voltage direct current. In this paper, a proposal will be presented to plan the connection of the power grid in the Syrian Arab Republic 400 kV that operates on alternating current with the DC network DESERTEC. And studying the effect of this connection on the quality of electrical energy in the Syrian Arab Republic.
