Identifying Persons from Iris Image

Iris recognition is the biometric application of identifying individuals based on the appearance of the patterns contained by their irises. In this paper, we describe an efficient method for iris recognition using Support Vector Machines, comparing images of the iris of a person to images of irises of other persons. The goal is to obtain a fast and reliable method that can be used in access control applications. Experimental results are presented, discussed and compared to those of similar algorithms, pointing out advantages and disadvantages.
