A Review of Dynamic Resource Allocation in Edge and Fog Oriented Enterprise Systems

Edge and Fog Computing have a more and more important role in the development of the Internet of Things both at conceptual and technology level. In this paper the authors analyze the implications of Fog and Edge computing technologies in the design and deployment of enterprise systems and their impact in the enterprise environment. The authors analyze existing contributions from different domains such as Medicine, Automotive, Oil Industry, IT, Smart Homes. The purpose of this research is to provide a better understanding of the existing implementations, current issues and what can be improved. Based on the research the authors propose building blocks for the development of a framework that can fit the requirements for business environment.
