The preheating of combustion air

Mr. Burnard Bullock's paper is one of very great, value as illustrating the trend of modern practice in obtaining high furnace efficiencies, and it is interesting to trace out the reasons for the obvious superiority of preheated air over the older method of using the flue gases to heat the feed water entering the hoiler.
