Consideration and discussion of items of practical experience

(Member): Under this heading I would like to show the members some samples of lead-covered cable which show distinct signs of corrosion. I would like to ask any members if they have struck this kind of trouble. It is a plain, lead-covered cable, with no jute or armouring. It was laid about 2 feet in the ground, and it has been working, I should say, about two years. (Handing specimens round to members.) If any member has met this trouble before I would like to have his experience.
