Technical education and training

I have to thank the members for the favourable reception accorded to my paper. Although it was intended to be mainly retrospective in character and perhaps not provocative of discussion, I gave expression to certain views on the training of engineers and artizans which could fairly be regarded as somewhat controversial. The paucity of discussion is, therefore, to be regretted.
