Use of electricity in development of the resources of the union

(Member): Before I give my few remarks on this subject, I should like to congratulate, Mr. President, and you, gentlemen, on the extraordinary success of your Institute. I remember when I came here ten years ago yon were starting in quite a very small way, and the result, as your President has told you to-night, 450 members and still growing, and with the knowledge you are going into a new building, a combined organisation of other Societies, seems to me to make for the entire success of the S.A. Institute of Electrical Engineers.
