Atmospheric electric effects and hailstorms

The President: Gentlemen, the next item on the programme is a paper for reading, entitled “Atmospheric Electric Effects and Hailstorms,” by our old friend Mr. Innes. (Hear, hear.) Everybody in this community knows Mr. Innes; if they do not, they ought to know him. We have very special reason for kindly feelings towards Mr. Innes — nothing to do with the weather, gentlemen, at all, — (laughter) — but for his many intellectual discourses to the technical societies of this community.
