Estimation Method of v2v Networks Capacity in Saturated Traffic Flows

The paper considers a traffic generated by messages that are sent by car drivers moving on a highway. The drivers exchange these messages (dedicated short-range communications) using the Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE), IEEE 802.11p standard. The communication channels provide access to each other or to objects located on the same highway. A mathematical model is developed to estimate the capacity congestion of the mobile connection by which the messages are sent. The model provides estimates that are used to prescribe parameters of a queueing system. This queueing system is used to estimate the delays of the messages transitions. An approximate formula is proposed to compute the average sojourn time in this queueing system.
