Method of Urban Traffic Management

As a result of the research carried out, it was found that when the weather conditions change, the mode of movement of traffic flows, namely the speed of movement, also changes. With the constant operation of the available technological equipment, which in turn is limited by such parameters as the intensity and composition of the traffic flow, this phenomenon leads to significant delays in traffic and often to the occurrence of road accidents. It is possible to establish a certain speed of movement when analyzing the condition of the roadway and determining its grip qualities, which are directly proportional. In the course of surveys in this direction, the relationship between the adhesion qualities of the pavement and weather conditions was determined, which became the basis for the algorithm that determines the required speed mode of movement. The implementation of the algorithm at the experimental city entrance made it possible to introduce the required speed mode and ensure the operation of the existing technological equipment taking it into account. Thus, within the framework of the study carried out, the authors propose an improved approach to the management of urban traffic flows, based on the regulation of the speed regime at the entrance to the city, taking into account the previously used characteristics - intensity and composition, and a previously unused indicator of weather conditions to ensure the operation of the existing technological equipment included into the ITS infrastructure.
