Method and algorithm of control of shunt reactors of high-voltage power network in maintenance modes based on fuzzy logic theory

Stable connections of power grid with other power systems, their parallel operation or the creation of nonsynchronous communication by means of a DC device are important conditions for a highly perspective stable power supply. The analysis and study of the problems arising during the application of modern technologies to ensure the power grid reliability are topical in adjustment of frequency, voltage and capacity to ensure the regime reliability on such power route. From this point of view, in high-voltage system-forming and inter-system electrical networks, it is of particular importance to conduct research on the forming of a control system based on modern technologies, the placement of FACTS devices in the part of control shunt reactors (CSR) to compensate the charging capability. Thus, in high-voltage system-forming and inter-system electric networks, the use of charging capability compensation means for power transmission lines (PTL) creates an opportunity to ensure a sufficiently high reliability and efficiency of the power system mode. On both sides of 500 kV PTL of the power grid, relevant research work was carried out in connection with the placement and control of the FACTS devices of CSR. These works represent the research related to the development and implementation of the methods and algorithms of CSR control mainly on the basis of traditional and non-traditional mathematical technologies. However, in the works under consideration the questions of adequacy of planned and unplanned switch-ons of system elements (power lines, generators, transformers) of the given methods and algorithms were considered insufficiently. This work represents the results of the development and computer implementation of the methods and algorithms for controlling the CSR device in the state of shift switch-ons (N-1 criterion) of the power grid elements using the mathematical fuzzy logic apparatus. The obtained results confirm the reactive power compensation and bus voltage stabilization during its controlling high-voltage networks during the short-term plannings of maintenance modes and, therefore, the possibility of provision for the power grid voltage stability.
