Study on Safety of Primary Frequency Regulation of Thermal Power Unit

With the gradual increase of power grid capacity, new requirements for the safety, stability and power quality of the power system are put forward. According to the current control characteristics of thermal power units in China, with the practical experience of primary frequency regulation(PFR) rectification in a provincial power grid, the PFR control and the safety of the power unit and the grid are studied and analyzed in detail. This paper points out the control strategic problems of power plants and the hidden peril of PFR control in power grid, which can be used for reference by power plants and power grid regulatory departments.
