Development of a Wearable Device for Monitoring People with Heart Problems

A very large number of the adult population suffers from hypertension, a condition that does not always show symptoms making patients unaware that they are suffering from this disease. Even patients with diagnosed hypertension do not check their blood pressure regularly, which is a major health problem. This paper presents the development and testing process for a wearable (bracelet) devices for monitoring people with heart problems. This device extends the functionality of common activity trackers by measuring the ECG and determining if the person who wears it has fallen.
