CNN based Nutrient Extraction from Food Images

Nowadays overweight is one of the major problems around the world. People are treating obesity as one of the major diseases because it is the root cause of so many health issues. The World Health Organization states that more than 1.9 billion adults were suffered from obesity. The reason for obesity may be different like genetic problems, thyroid, taking continuous medicines or simply because of unhealthy eating habits and poor lifestyle. Some people are well aware of the obesity problem and are trying to move to a healthy lifestyle. For those people and also for sportspersons, models and astronauts maintaining the weight are essential. To maintain a healthy diet, it is necessary to learn about the calorie intake of each day or each meal. There are so many methods available to measure a calory, most commonly from the restored database. It is not possible to measure exact calory in the lab or it is not good to go with the approximated one. The proposed method measures the exact nutrient of the food by using the image processing and convolutional neural network. This will help the user to calculate the nutrient value of the food even with different size or measure.
