Relationship of the Cascade-Probability (CP) Method with the Boltzman Equation and Its Application to the Problems of Defect Generation in Materials Irradiated by Electrons

An equation of the cascade process (Boltzmann type) for electrons is obtained and solved during the formation of primary knocked on atoms (PKA), taking into account energy losses in an elementary event. It is shown that the cascade probability function (CPF) is included in the solution of this equation. Using this solution, expressions for the PKA energy spectrum and defect concentration are obtained. A comparison of the calculations based on the concentration of Frenkel pairs with the experiment on the fixing points of dislocations shows their satisfactory agreement.
