The Application of ELCID on Inter-laminar Insulation Failure of Generator Stator Core

The inter-laminar insulation failure in the stator core is not easy to be discovered, which seriously threatens the safe and stable operation of the generator. In order to effectively find the inter-laminar insulation failure, the test principle, test scheme, fault judgment criterion, parameter calculation method of the electromagnetic core imperfection detection(ELCID) are introduced in the paper. The ELCID test method is successfully used to find an inter-laminar insulation failure. Further, the precautions in ELCID test operation and data analysis are introduced to guide stator core failure diagnosis and maintenance.
