Innovative observer algorithm for sensorless control of AC permanent magnet synchronous machines

In field oriented control of permanent magnet synchronous machines, the knowledge of /spl theta/, the angle between the "dq" reference rotor frame, and the frame of fixed axes connected with stator windings, is fundamental. In this paper the authors present a classical open-loop speed observer for PM synchronous motors, where an innovative correction algorithm is introduced.
