How Much Memory Do Cell Phones Need?

It is argued that a higher capacity memory will be required for future smartphone applications. With the limitations on smartphone batteries, new nonvolatile memories could replace some of the SRAM and DRAM in smartphones, allowing frequent power off and minimal power use. Smartphones, smart watches, and consumer devices connected by advanced wireless networks will need intelligence, connectivity as well as digital storage and memory to serve as our interfaces with each other, with our machines, and even to our own brains. The advance of all of these technologies will create new industries, more efficient resource utilization, and more ways for humans to work together to create a world with enormous possibilities.
