Detection of Spyware in Software Using Virtual Environment

Among the various cyber attacks existing in computers, malware attack is considered dangerous, due to its passive and sleathy nature of attack execution. The malware attack is a type of cyber attack, which performs the activities on the victim's system initiated by the malware author. The malware attack could be executed by various means such as adware, spyware, keylogger etc. The standalone malware software that performs on their own and spread through other computers are called as a rootkit. Spyware collects details about an organization or person and dispatch it to malicious users. The keylogger spyware collects the key strokes pressed by the user, logs them and send the data to malware attacker. To enforce proper data security the detection and identification of these attacks are necessary. Early detection of these of these attacks will help to control the speed of spyware spreading. In this paper, a logging and testing approach to detect the spyware attack is proposed.
