Transient analysis of radiated field from electric dipoles and microstrip lines

The transient response of the field radiated from electric dipole sources and microstrip lines with arbitrary time waveforms is analyzed. By using the three-dimensional Fourier transform of the spectral dyadic Green's function, relative to the integrated structure, an analytical closed-form solution is obtained and equivalent circuits for the analysis of the transient phenomena in the far-field region are derived. Numerical examples are provided to obtain noticeable insights to the behavior of planar circuits working under Gaussian pulsed excitation.<
