Performance Improvement of Sensorless Induction Motor Drive with Fuzzy Logic Controller

In this paper, the conventional PI controller used in the rotor flux based model reference adaptive system (MRAS) is replaced with a novel Fuzzy logic based adaptation mechanism. Such adaptive system works satisfactorily in both steady state and dynamic modes of operation. A detailed study between the conventional and proposed schemes is done in closed loop sensorless mode of operation. MATLAB/SIMULINK software is used for the Computer simulation study. Better dynamic performance is observed using proposed Fuzzy logic controller based speed estimator.
