Child mortality is an important indicator of a nation's quality of life. The World Health Organization (WHO) uses these data to evaluate the health quality in each country in the world. In the 21st century, according to UNICEF, child mortality still haunts the world with high numbers and a limited rate of reduction. As reported by the WHO, 6 million deaths of children under five years old were recorded in 2016. Most of these deaths were caused by diseases and infections, and 51.8% of deaths caused in 2013 were the result of infections that had fever as the initial symptom.
