Efficient Video Monitoring of Areas of Interest

In this paper we propose a fast, light-weight system dedicated to efficient video monitoring of areas of interest. The imagined system detects moving pedestrians in a certain area and performs a superficial analysis of their behavior in response to the environment. We present our approach on video data gathering, storage and analysis, aiming to apply it on a case study regarding audience in out-of-home advertising. We present and comment our experimental results, pointing out advantages and disadvantages.
