Estimation of the Average Delay for Contention-Based Uplink Transmission in 5G Mobile Networks

The most challenging task in 5G networks is the achievement of the required key performance indicators for Ultra-Reliable and Low Latency scenario in uplink channel, such as the extreme low delay in wireless interface. The possible way to achieve such low delays is the refusal of request-based scheduling in favor of pre-scheduling procedures. In this work, we investigate the modifications of the pre-scheduling procedures based on the random multiple access. We propose the numerical evaluation procedure that allows to get the lower estimations for the average delay of packet transmission in the uplink channel and the average resource block usage.
