Evaluating measurement uncertainty of thermocouples calibration

The paper refers to evaluation of measurement uncertainty in calibration of thermocouples. The evaluation of measurement uncertainty in the calibration of thermocouples is necessary in order to make accurate measurements and to understand the use of measurement results. It is also important to evaluate the calibration uncertainty as part of the calibration for the purpose of mentioning it in the calibration certificate of the thermocouple. Thermocouples calibrating involves establishing a relationship between the thermoelectric voltage values provided by the thermocouple and the working medium temperature values. The process of temperature measurement using thermocouples is based on the thermoelectric phenomenon laws. In evaluation and calculating measurement uncertainty first we need to identify sources of measurement uncertainty and calculate the contribution of individual uncertainties for each source and combine them to achieve global uncertainty. All the individual uncertainty components of thermocouple calibration should have predefined values and provide for the total expanded measurement uncertainty a smaller value. So it is important to know the distribution of each type of uncertainty in order to make the correct conversion calculation.
