In order to reduce negative-sequence reactance and improve aircraft generator steady-state and transient performances, this paper focuses on the design and optimization of damping system for aircraft salient-pole generator, especially damper winding. The classification and function of damper winding are discussed. The modeling and parameters computation are proposed.
