Wireless Information and Energy Transfer of Massive MIMO System with Low-Resolution ADCs/DACs

This paper focus on a massive multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system equipped with low-resolution analog-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analog (DAC) that can transfer energy, where base station (BS) is equipped with large-scale uniform linear antenna array (ULA). We analyze the asymptotic downlink energy and uplink spectral efficiency (SE) with maximum ratio combination/transmission (MRC/MRT) methods. In addition, we propose a power allocation (P A) scheme in order to improve SE under same channel state information (CSI). In simulation part, on the one hand, we realize the SE of using 3-bit ADCs and DACs is satisfying compared with perfect ADCs and DACs. On the other hand, the optimal time for energy transfer is found and SE is improved by 30% based on P A scheme.
