BPSK Ionosonde Based On SDR Platform To Support NVIS Communication

The paper is addressed to the problem of supporting NVIS communication by means of vertical-incidence BPSK ionosonde which uses single antenna. Ionosonde was developed by means of SDR technology with the use of USRP platform. Signal processing algorithms aimed at measuring channel scattering function and estimating channel parameters are presented. They allow to measure signal-to-noise ratio, delay spread and Doppler spread in a channel. We have proposed an algorithm aimed at supporting NVIS communication by choosing an appropriate communication channel or a certain modem which ensures reliable communication over a required channel.
