Review of Higher Order Statistics for Selection Combining Scheme in Weibull Fading Channel

The extension to first order statistics, like auto-correlation function and expected value of random variable; to Higher Order such as Level Crossing Rate and Average Fade Duration has lead the pathway to estimate the channel performance and to implement fading mitigation techniques at physical layer, by significant characterization of the channel, even in worst case scenario. In this paper, the close-form expressions for LCR and AFD in terms of cumulative distribution and bivariate functions, are formulated and as a direct application, are extended to Selection Combining diversity scheme for Weibull channel, using Marcum-Q function. The numerical results are presented so as to illustrate the effect of fading.
