Using a Long Time Constant Integrator in Rainfall Intensity Measuring via Acoustic Method

In the present article is proposed a simplified approach for determining the rain intensity, based on acoustic method. A piezo plate is used as a probe, and a long time constant voltage integrator and comparator circuits are the major blocks of the developed sensor. As a reference, a weighing method, based on a strain gauge is used. The main blocks of the sensor are described, and a series of real time measurements are presented.
