Computer Aided Testing of Static and Dynamic Characteristics of Magnetic Gears

In this work, a sophisticated computer measurement system for static and dynamic testing of coaxial magnetic gears has been designed and assembled. The system consists of precise measurement elements such as torque sensor, active electromagnetic brake, power control unit, multifunctional data acquisition device and sensors, computer control unit, etc. The measurement system is dynamically controlled by a computer automated control unit as a real time application via a LabVIEW interface. The main static and dynamic characteristics of magnetic gears could be measured in a controllable environment close to real operational conditions. Mechanical, magnetic and thermal characteristics can be measured and analyzed in static or dynamic operational mode.
