Terminal sliding mode control of second order systems with velocity constraint

In this paper terminal sliding mode variable structure controller for uncertain second order dynamical systems is proposed. In order to eliminate the reaching phase and ensure complete insensitivity with respect to perturbations from the very beginning of the control process, a time-varying sliding line is introduced. The line is designed to minimize the error convergence time subject to velocity constraint.
