Testing of a human sway at balance platform

In biomechanics, the balance is the ability to keep the center of gravity to the base, assuming that it is in the contour of the field defined by the feet in contact with the ground. Sway is therefore a horizontal motion of the center of gravity that appears even when the person is standing still. It can occur in the sagittal and lateral planes, which causes an increasing difficulty in its unambiguous identification. Studies show that the loss in balance may be related to the impairment of stability control and, consequently, the increased risk of falling. Correcting posture by small medial - lateral or front-rear swaying may lead to elastic movements within the spine. In the article testing of the human sway at balance platform is presented. All the measurements were performed with use of high speed camera and after that human behavior at balance platform was analyzed.
