Modeling of Surface Permanent Magnet Motors With Cogging and Saturation Effects Included

A method for modeling permanent magnet motors including saturation effects on cogging and motive torque is described. This method rivals the accuracy of finite element analyses but solves 4-5 orders of magnitude faster, depending on several factors. Simulation results match well with laboratory measurements.
